Microsoft Office Changes

There have been many changes with Microsoft office that we have used in our Info Pro class and the Microsoft 2007. For instance the Word has a new option to make Birthday invites or just any invite likes weddings and such. Excel has came out with more interactive way to show your data like with pie charts. Another big change with Microsoft office is the Power Point. The more templates and more options like being able to put a movie clip in a slide. Another thing with PowerPoint is more motions of pictures that can change colors and such which is way more advanced from what it used to be.

On the site about The top ten Tech Skills there are very essential skills that in today’s world will help us get a future career. I personal believe that in all 10 of these skills I have at least a general idea or better on what they are and how to do them. The number one is typing, In all of information Proccessing it is based on typing, it doesn’t matter what your doing your always typing so that is definately a skill that I am very good at. Word proccessing is another very important skill at which I am very good at. I have been using word since grade 5 and know am using it almost weekly for reports and such for english and other classes. number 3 is spread sheets, I was introduced to spreadsheets usuing excel in grade 10 math. I believe that i have a very good grasp on how to calculate numbers and format them so that no matter what I do i can always change things. Powerpoint i have used alot as well. When ever i have a science powerpoint I make sure i have good representation on my subject with vibrant colors and information that cathches the teachers eye. Email is another thing I am very used to wheter it be for hockey or sending a file to my teacher that i had to hand in. One of the things that I have never heard of until now is a electronic calender. I am not very organized and I like to wing things so i do not think I will be good at using one. Social Networking sites like Facebook I am very good at using. I go on facebook almost everyday to update my status pictures and such. The last three skills i actually have never heard of and I dont think I will never use any of the three which are basic computer upkeep, using internet searches properly or Database use. Overall i have a good connection with computers and some of the essential software that they have and will need in the future.

Cell+Car=Catastrophe

There are reasons why people use a cell in a car. For business or maybe just to catch up with friends. I think that using a cellphone in a car for talking purposes is ok. But when it comes to texting i believe that texting is very dangerous for that you are taking your eyes of the road completely. When answering a call, you only open your phone and talk. simple as that not pressing numbers or letters. Another thing that i disagree with is the penalty for using your cell in your car. $280 and four demerits is alot. I can maybe see that if you are texting but calling is not distracting you any bit i believe. I also dont believe the answer is buying a blue tooth. I think that it is not needed. I believe that the only thing that is creating accidents is texting not calling. One argument i could see coming up is how do the police know if a person is texting or calling. I guess i could understand. One thing i could see police mixing up is people texting and people eating. If a person sets down a drink. They have to look down to see it which deverts there eyes. Overall I believe that I am not with the new law but i do believe texting and driving is bad.

The iPod and The Xbox 360

I think it would be cool if the iPod and Xbox 360 would join forces and create a portable Xbox 360 in the iPod touch. I know that this would never happen though as for iPod is a part of the Apple computer company and that Xbox 360 is a part of Microsoft and Windows. I was thinking of having the same touch screen exclusives that the iPod touch includes with the exclusive games for Xbox 360 like Halo. I would love to play call of duty on my iPod touch. Another thing they could do is link your scores with online stuff like achievements and your level and update it on your Xbox so when you play on your iPod touch your still gaining levels and getting achievements through the 360. I could see it happening that games will come out on the iPod touch. The one thing is that the memory that some of the latest games out on the market is substantial. That is the one thing iPod will have to come out with maybe a memory card slot like on the Nintendo DS. I think it would be a neat idea and I could definately think it is a topic that Apple is considering when they launch the new iPod touch. All in all, if Apple were to team with Microsoft and make the portable Xbox 360 built into the iPod touch I think that would be on my next to buy list.

Christmas

Hey there! this Christmas is the first Christmas where I am not doing much for the break. I think all that I am doing is going back to my hometown which is in Brandon Manitoba where i moved from in June. I am going back to see my best friends that I practically grew up with. After i go there i am going to my Aunt’s who lives just outside the tiny town of MacNutt Saskatchewan which is in the middle of no where. I do enjoy going there for the snowmobiling in the fields and going to the Russel Manitoba which is about twenty mintues away and going snowboarding at Asessippi ski hill. I enjoy going to the terrain park i find that it just adds to snowboarding because lots of things that you can do with a snowboard you can not with skiis. Other that I hope i get something good for Christmas cause i did not ask for anything specific so i hope that it’s good.

Too Hot For iPod

I think that the iPod was smart to delete the Google Voice application. It is basically like a cellphone but you do not have to pay monthly or yearly fees it is all free. The phone companies were getting pissed off with this and they went to iPod complaining

WKC Football

It has been a while since i have talked about our football team at Winston Knoll. Our team won Quarters, Semis and the City final to get to the provincial final for the province of Saskatchewan. 4A football title was on the line. This would the deciding game of which team out of Winston Knoll or Aden Bowman could declare their team as the kings of Saskatchewan. The game was good for Knoll as we played solid all the way to the third quarter having a 19-0 lead on the Aden Bowman Bears. The fourth quarter the offence fell apart leaving the defence tired and on the field for a long time. As a result aden Bowman came back and took a 20-19 lead over knoll. We got the ball back with 40 seconds on the clock. The ball was grounded at exactly one second on the clock. The thing is the clock kept running so they called the game off even though we had a good chance of kicking a field goal. Even though we lost the provincial final we were still the first team in Knoll history to get to the city final and win it. Its just a honor to be a part of that.

Switcheroo

If i were able to switch places with any single person in the world for one hour, i would have to choose Andre Johnson as my first choice. I would love to be in Andre johnson because he is basically the only amazing receiver on the Houston Texans which means i would get the ball passed to me almost all the time. My second choice i think i would have to say would be Tiger Woods. To be known as the best golfer in the world along and being recognized wherever you go. The last person i would be in the world is Terrell Owens. I think that Terrell Owens is the most boastful player in the NFL even though this year he has a little over 200 yards receiving with the Buffalo Bills even though that half the season is done or almost done.

One of the words in the article The iPod is dead that i did not understand was iteration. the definition is: the action or a process of iterating or repeating: as a : a procedure in which repetition of a sequence of operations yields results successively closer to a desired result b : the repetition of a sequence of computer instructions a specified number of times or until a condition is met — compare recursion. I iterated on the phone about the tickets you had to buy.

This Article really did not interest me. I think that the decrease in iPod sales is just normal. People buy the ipod when it first comes out and then after they have it and then sales go down because most people who want it already have it. When a new model comes out however, i think that sales will caboose right back up.

I definately agree with the author of this article. If they added a GPS and a camera and such to the iPod Touch then it would be awesome. I think that doing this will also make it more advanced and save you money because you won’t just have to buy a GPS and a new cammera and stuff like that, all you do is buy the new touch and bam! You got all those in one.

Restaurant

The inspection reports that i have looked at of the restaurant inspections for Qu’aAppelle region in Saskatchewan were actually very good. Nothing was wrong with any of them exlcuding the one restaurant in the Lipton Hotel in Lipton. It only had one things as well and that was construction/matinence or cleaning which is not that bad considering. I think that most of the eateries in Saskatchewan have checked in very well.
